Service Animal EasyGO Card Application

Please note that this application is optional

Service animals that accompany passengers with disabilities, such as guide dogs, are welcome at all public areas of the Grand River Transit (GRT) system.

If you have a service animal, and the animal does not wear a noticeable vest or harness saying that it is a service animal, the GRT operator (or Transit Security on ION trains) may ask you to show identification that the animal is needed for reasons of a disability. Under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, businesses and organizations can ask for documentation from a regulated health professional stating that you need your animal because of a disability.

Using a Service Animal EasyGO Card instead of producing documentation

If you would prefer to tap a Service Animal EasyGO Card, rather than show documentation from an acceptable regulated health professional stating that you need your animal because of a disability, please complete and submit this application.

If your application is approved, you will be able to obtain a Service Animal EasyGO Card. Tapping this card when boarding GRT buses or ION trains will indicate to the GRT operator (or Transit Security on ION trains) that they do not need to ask to see your service animal documentation.
